WIN WEBSITE PAGE:
CONTACT US WEBSITE PAGE:
After reviewing my website with my Media Teacher, I have gained some feedback on how to improve my website and gain more marks, my feedback was as follows:

Observations:
Good Logo. Background images work well...change of hue/saturation/levels...subtle but nice. A lot of your page titles are Homepage...please change these as appropriate. No video (probably one of the images I can't see)

Homepage: Images missing. We need some text regarding what the user will find on the website...what is the purpose of the site? Make it clear. Not sure why the contact us link is at the bottom on the page...doesn't really make sense. You might be better off changing it for text related to the holiday or offering something else. The ASBO story, you need to introduce it to the homepage with some text eg. exclusive!!!

Top 40: Nicely done but I'm not sure that you need such a big image...this forces the user to scroll down...is this necessary? You might want to mention when the Top 40 will be on your channel so that viewers can watch it live or link to another part of your sire to watch last week's Top 40 (page does not need to exsist and link does not need to go anywhere but gives depth to the site)

What's On: Explain what the user will find on this page. Consider making your images smaller or adding more text to avoid lots of white space. Some of the programmes might have more infor elsewhere which you may want to link to. This will add depth to the site. You should have a daily TV schedule for your site. You can get around this by placing a link at the top of the page to the schedule before you tell people whats hot on the boom box

Snapped: Images missing. This would be an ideal exclusive for a link on the home page. Insert some text to explain what snapped is all about!

Win: Explain what the compos page is about, weekly, monthly, daily? Add links for further info and if people are phoning in their entried they need to be told how much this will cost per minute etc. as well as the minimum charge.

Contact Us: Images Missing. Make up e-mail addresses from the boombox website url you're going to make up - looks more professional. The job with boom box should be on its own page or a link from the home page maybe? Or maybe change to name of the page to get in touch with two sections. Image for Jamie is not very well cut out...consider re-doing this!
_______________________________________________

You have combined image and text very well though I still need to see a video clip (3)

Your technical skills are very good in terms of having created the site in Kompozer. Photoshop skills are evident, with laying on an image on the homepage. (3)
Your material does not quite communicate everything to the reader and I think you need to make a little more of the TV channel (i.e refer to it when talking about the show's characters etc.) (3)

Navigation is logical...but there is not enough evidence of depth to your site. (3)

I'm grading your work as it currently stands at Level 3, with 30/40 and an estimated B grade. I'm pretty confident you'll get an A or A* with a few tweaks Becky.

Win Page of my Website

Double-Page Spread Advertisement

First Double Spread Advertisement Attempt

This was my first attempt of my double page spread, I was advised by classmates that I needed more persuasive text on my page to let people know what they're in for, so it's less mysterious than my previous advertisement, also by the time this advertisement would be published into a magazine the channel would have already launched, so more vital information is needed to draw in higher audience figures.

Second Double Spread Advertisement Attempt

I decided to keep the basic layout I previously developed in the first attempt. I added a small text box persuading people to come to my website/channel. I will add more images and text also as it develops.

Third Double Page Spread Advertisement Attempt

I added a TV Schedule and a small advertisement for my new exclusive programme on the advertisement also. I was happy with this draft, but looking back on it, I decided that it doesn't have enough relevant text on the page. Also, due to a change in idea, my exclusive new programe has changed, so I needed to change the pictureand text there also.

Forth & Final Double Page Spread Advertisement Design

I added more text to the final draft as you can see, and added a picture of my album of the week band "Hardkore", I added a "Don't Miss" title aswell so my audience can see when their favourite shows are annually scheduled. Also the text follows the colour scheme of the logo so there is some theme in my website. I have basically left the left side of the newspaper spread basically untouched because my fellow peers and tutor said it looks very effective. I am finally happy with my newspaper double page spread as it's finally got the relevant text it needed to give it more depth.

Newspaper Advertisement

This is my newspaper advertisement for my teen music channel. I wanted to keep it simple and decided to go for a advertisement which would incise the audience to see what was available on the website or channel. I believe this will gain me a higher audience numbers

Background and Colour Scheme

To add variety to my website, using photoshop i've decided to change the colour of the girl for each page. This gives each page the ability to explore another colour scheme and gives the website a larger target audience by not sticking to feminine or masculine colours. Below are the screenshots of a few pages and their new different colour scheme.

Different Pages on my Website

Today, I went up to the Apple Mac room to do some extra work on my blog and website, today I completed my work on my 'TOP 40' page and my 'Snapped' page.

TOP 40 PAGE
When completing my Top 40 page, I decided to link each of the songs to www.amazon.co.uk and to advertise my audience to download the mp3 of the so
ngs in my top 40. This means by using real artists I am crediting them for their music, as you can see from my screenshot, each artist is followed my a 'Download' link which is live and functioning
Snapped Page
Within my Snapped Page I have added the exclusive interview with my made up band 'HardKore' I have added the pictures that Heidi Russell has allowed me to use and I believe I have created an effective page for my audience, I am indecisi
ve whether I will add more news to my page, such as tour d
ates and small articles involving certain stars, but time will tell.
